Whole School Leadership Mini-Courses
In partnership with Whole School Leadership, the Professional Booksellers School is offering a series of three Portal to Leadership courses. Each 3-week course delves into leadership principles to help bookstore owners & managers be better leaders, and to learn to build trust and a sense of belonging among their staff and community. Each course is built around a book on leadership, and will feature a discussion with the author and practice applying concepts in theory and practice.

Course 2 Leading with Dignity by Dr. Donna Hicks was May 1 - 15
Course 3 Engaging Emergence: Turning Upheaval into Opportunity by Peggy Holman. Learn effective principles and practices for working with change and the unexpected. Classes meet Wednesdays September 11, September 18, and September 25 from 3 - 4 pm ET / 2 - 3 pm CT / 12-1 pm PT

Marketing, Display, and Storytelling Excellence
New Course Begins on Wednesday, June 19
Our new Marketing, Display, and Storytelling Excellence Course is designed to offer fresh perspectives drawn from the disciplines of design, writing, entertainment and anthropology. Wherever you are in your journey, you can use this course to help elevate and expand your thinking and practice in connecting with customers, and improve the things that matter most to you.
Taught by Industry Pros Lisa Uhrik and Steve Wax, this five-session course will help you reimagine how customers experience your store, and how you shape and market that experience.
Live classes are Wednesdays June 19, July 3, July 17, July 31, and August 14. Each is 90 minutes long and begins at 12:30 pm ET / 11:30 am CT / 9:30 am PT.
The course is limited to 30 students, with a cost of $425, with discounts available from all Regional Trade Associations. Registration opens Wednesday, May 29 at 12:30 pm ET / 11:30 am CT / 9:30 am PT.
